For you, I’d take up farming.
Agriculture runs through the veins of
our ancestors, just as your name charges
through the doors of my heart.
I’ll think of them as I pat seeds into the soil
I have three packets of faith
and a handful of hope seeds.
The strength from planting them
Will just add on to my new diet.
In a year or two, I hope to look out
my window, sip a drink at the balcony,
to the view of rainbow-coloured crops
and maybe out of them all, love will mushroom up
into the air, after so long in hiding.
